A coat needs to go over other items so should be made slightly larger than a jumper of the same size. In addition if something is fur lined it loses width due to density so allowance in size should be made for that. I always have to buy coats 2 sizes bigger for this reason which then end up to wide at the bottom. Sadly larger sizes sold out really quickly. It was a lovely coat and would def have kept if it had fit me. But honestly £80 for a coat that's not leather is a micky take. Originally posted on www.longtallsally.com
